Big things are happening

It has been a busy past few months since the last update. Stay tuned for some big updates to come in the next few weeks.

Etsy store has launched

It's been a little while since the last post but we have been busy. Construction continues on the laser cutter. More parts have been order and hopefully they will be arriving soon. On another note, our Etsy shop has officially launched. Check it out here and check back often. We will be adding more items.

Building a base

Good progress was made on the laser cutter frame. The base is fully assembled. Next step will be adding the rest of the columns. More to come next week.

Midweek update

Last week was a little slow and dangerous. While cutting aluminum extrusions to build the laser cutter I had a small accident. The aluminum was thrown out from the saw and gouged my left thumb pretty good. No stitches required but there was a deep gash. Work on the laser cutter took a little break while my finger was healing so not a great amount was accomplished last week.

This week the thumb is getting better. Work has resumed on the laser cutter. I will post pictures of the progress on the laser cutter on Friday.

Progress

Made some good progress over the past week. There were a few minor setbacks but lots of progress has been made. Check out the gantry of the laser cutter being dry fit on the new table.

Check back towards the end of the week to see what progress is made on the laser cutter.

Special delivery

Today was a big day at Modern Milled. The remaining aluminum extrusions were delivered. The laser cutter build can get officially started. Check back next week to see what progress we make this weekend.

This is Tim Michael, creator/ operator of Modern Milled. We are a custom design and fabrication shop located in Kansas City. Currently we run a CNC mill and are working on building a laser cutter to increase our fabrication capability. Check back often to see updates from the shop.
